Hi, I’m running for City Council in District 3 because I believe our city deserves leadership that’s present, prepared, and focused on everyday residents. I’m a neighbor who wants to bring new energy, common-sense solutions, and clear accountability to City Hall.
OMAR PEÑA
Hi Neighbors,
I’m Omar Peña, a first-time candidate for Fulshear City Council. Rooted in South Texas, I’m committed to practical, data-informed leadership with integrity and transparency. I grew up in Harlingen and earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University–Kingsville, an MBA in Finance from the University of Houston–Victoria, and an M.S. in Data Science from Texas A&M University (go Aggies!).
I spent over two decades in the Houston area, collaborating with Fortune 500 companies and growing small businesses, and my family and I have called Fulshear home for six years. My wife Lisa Peña, a Katy ISD educator from Sugar Land, and our kids Avi and Eden keep our days full with sports and dance.
I attend St. Faustina Catholic Church and am a participant in the FACTS program. I stay heavily involved in Katy ISD events and watchdog groups, and I’ve coached youth sports teams for four years. I’ve served on nonprofit boards, volunteered with Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity, and other organizations, and I’m an alumnus of Leadership Houston Class 34.
My core goal is to bring awareness, representation, and clarity to City Hall. I believe government should be accessible, data-informed, and accountable to every resident.
If elected, I’ll engage residents through meetups, surveys, and regular updates; work within a prudent budget; and partner with schools, public safety, and small businesses to improve quality of life. I’m excited to serve Fulshear and would love to hear your ideas.
